For over forty years, the Brazilian Meeting on Organic Synthesis (BMOS) has been the key gathering point for the synthetic organic chemistry community in Brazil. What began in 1982 as a small meeting of just fifteen researchers in Brasília has grown into an international event that brings together world-leading scientists and enthusiastic young chemists alike.1
From the very beginning, BMOS has carried a spirit of openness, innovation, and collaboration. Already by its third edition in 1988, the event had welcomed renowned international speakers and adopted English as its official language, signaling its global ambition. Equally important has been its dedication to students, who have always played a central role and often gained opportunities to pursue international training and collaborations thanks to the networks built at BMOS.
Now celebrating its 20th edition, BMOS is more than a conference: it is a tradition that has helped shape a lively and competitive community of Brazilian chemists who are recognized around the world. At the same time, it remains a friendly and inspiring space where ideas cross borders, new partnerships take root, and the next generation of scientists find their voice.
We look forward to welcoming you to Águas de Lindóia in 2026 for this special anniversary edition.
